check out my site. it is hosted on a free host. they got a paid plan and they use free plan to promote their paid plan. check out their forum first if you what to see what kind of services they provide.

I am not sure about FREE ones, but I use godaddy for my site. It’s only $3.99 per month, which is about as cheap as you can get.
Yes, there are lots of free realiable web hosts out there just google it and you’ll see. The one i like the most is http://www.10mb.com
A free webhost is a really nice idea, but you have to remember that they have to pay for their overheads somehow. A host has to have some technical staff for when things go wrong if it’s to fulfil your other requirement (reliability) – and things are bound to go wrong at some point.
So a free host that did not require advertising on the sites it hosts would get the money for all this from where?
This is why free hosts without advertising tend to disappear without notice. As in everything else, the TANSTAAFL principle applies.
If you are serious about websites either for personal or your business, don’t go to free web hosting as they are usually not reliable and you may end up losing all your hard work. Free web hosts usually put advertisements on your websites and it could be annoying.
If you like to create websites (usually you will end up more than 1 website, I got more than 100 websites in about 6 months’ time), go for multiple web hosting services where you could host all your websites in one account.
