France’s UShareSoft, started in 2007 by some ex-Sun and HP folk with only angel investors, has launched UForge Appliance Factory, where developers can visually assemble software appliances and launch them in the cloud. It says it lets them create, re-use, clone and maintain a complete software stack in a simple, consistent and predictable manner. UShareSoft’s portfolio of enterprise-class tools is supposed to simplify the delivery of software to physical, virtualized and cloud environments such as Amazon or VMware vCenter for both scale-up and scale-out computing.
