Which one of these logos is the best?

12:37 pm in SOA Answers by SOA Guru

I made two logos for my company i didn’t put the name but i replaced the letter with "name" just want to see which one is more convenient for a cloud computing company(software delivered on through the web)

The first one i think is not that original its looks kinda like Salesforce.com i think i have seen it before:

Logo3

The second option i think is kinda original its a cloud shape made with boxes that have rounded corners:

Logo2

Which one do you think is the best and will make the business stand out?

What do people use Amazon EC2 for?

3:01 am in SOA Answers by SOA Guru

What do you use Amazon EC2 for? Can you earn money somehow by sharing files (not even sure that’s what it’s for) or do you pay Amazon for some service? I’ve just began exploring cloud computing so please keep in mind that I know almost NOTHING about what it is, don’t get in too much detail. I just want to know what people use it for day-to-day and what potential it has for people who want to share files or servers or whatever. Thanks a lot

Novice Web Designer, Charging for Services?

10:01 pm in SOA Answers by

I have been working with HTML and CSS for a while, and have worked on a couple projects. I need to start saving money for school and paintball, and am thinking of starting a small website offering my services.

What should I charge per page? I am ‘novice’ but can make a clean website.

Creating a computer cluster in home?

3:48 am in SOA Answers by SOA Guru

Soon enough i will have three computers. I would like a way to harness the computing power of all three and direct it to 1 which would be using vista and run vista software/games. Is there a software that i could install in all 3 computers and make 1 host. And then connect them with a usb cable to each other. Should be possible, its very logical.
I want all three to share ram, cpu, and gpu to max extent possible.
I want a supercomputer made out of a cluster of three normal pcs in my house, sort of cloud computing i guess.
How can i do it.
Also, can linux computer run windows softwares/games/etc.

What is cloud computing?

7:00 pm in SOA Answers by SOA Guru

I heard that in cloud computing computers/servers share their resources, software, data with other computer/server so that they can be accessed or delivered or used on demand.
This figure in Wikipedia shows amazon, google, microsoft etc have connected their servers for cloud computing?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Cloud_computing.svg

Is this true? i.e. If we are using Gmail/Yahoo Mail then can our data be stored or processed on MS or any other company server?
